General structure
The riverbeds divide Molchegorsk into four main sections. Their commonly accepted names are the Old Town, Port District, Workers' District, and New Town.

Old Town
The Old Town occupies the northwestern part of Molchegorsk. It contains the administrative center, a shopping center, a hospital, the Church of Saint Tikhon, the Molchegorsk Museum of History and Local Lore, the abandoned S. M. Kirov Central Park of Culture and Recreation, and the Old Municipal Cemetery.
Port District
The Port District occupies the northeastern part of the city and includes the market, river port, and impoverished quarters.
Workers' District
The Workers' District occupies southwestern Molchegorsk. It contains factories, the railway, a school, a psychiatric hospital, and the Traveler's Boundary hostel.
New Town
The New Town occupies southeastern Molchegorsk. It contains new housing and districts inhabited by the urban elite, a shopping center, a closed school, a university, Yu. A. Gagarin Amusement Park, the New Municipal Cemetery, and the Swallow's Nest tourist hotel on the banks of the White Swallow and Grassy rivers.
